Aug 21 2008     Finally a Noticible Update

AxS Voldsom

If you haven't yet noticed somethings different on the site I truely am questioning your intelligence. Read on to get the lowdown.

Menu

Beyond this new news post you should have noticed the bigger menu by now. The menu came around becuase of visual errors that have been around for many people before and were sufacing for nearly everyone lately. Well I have good news, its gone. Gone are the random links pushed down below the menu that looked like crap. Now the menu is two tiered. On the top are links geared towards everyone and availiable to everyone. On the buttom are links for members and those wanting to join (hint: register) such as My Messages. Hopefully this new menu will also help make finding the right link slightly easier.

Chat

Its back, its on the bottom tier for members to use.

Profile = User CP

As many of you know the old Profile screen was basically a mess of links and words and was rather hard to easily navigate. Well now those problem are gone with a mod I found and slightly tweaked for our site. Profile has now been changed to User CP (Control Panel). Its much easier to tell what you are doing and I know that I'm personally more happy with it and think you'll be rather surprised.

Buddies!

You can now take advantage of the buddies system (access via User CP). Think of it as an easier way to see what your best friends on the site are up to. The messages, pms, posts, by those on your buddy list will appear as a different color than everyone else's on the site (what could be better than purple!). Be sure to watch how many people you have on your buddy list becuase it could become quite annoying seeing mostly purple.

So enjoy the update and send any problems you might encounter my way. Peace.

Aug 19 2008     The day of a thousand voices
by halosavior | 35 Views | 0 Comments | Rating: (0 rates)
HalosaviorThis is a continuation of the School Year plans, if you missed the previous part may I suggest you scroll down. With that little note aside let me dive right into the fairly simple Voice Actor Schedules.

It's not really a schedule per say, but more like a commitment with a boost of focus to every voice actor's laziness. The forum topic is split into two categories with two variations of the same principle. The first is Seasoned Voice Actors. Seasoned does not necessarily mean clan members; though that's what it looks like right now. Seasoned is what I like to call dependably frequent. Basically these people are people that frequently voice in our many projects mainly because we know we can trust them; they are dependable. There are no set guidelines to becoming a seasoned voice actor other than who we feel is dependable. Here's a hint: always turn your lines in on time and participate in as many projects as possible with the same amazing quality of effort... and results! Seasoned Voice Actors may choose any one day out of the week to do all of the lines requested of them. This day must be convenient for them as well as a day dedicated to doing their lines.

On the flip side we have Community Voices. These are people from around our community or random people that would like to try their hand at voice acting. It's basically the same set up, but instead of having every little person choose what day to do their lines they have set days to do their lines. These days are Sundays and Wednesdays. If you are a community voice then you will receive your scripts and whatever else you may need from the director at any time, but no later than the day before or day of the community day. A word of cation to those who wish to become a community voice; your voice may not be used. Sometimes your lack of experience for a certain project just won't fly, but we appreciate your effort. Don't let this discourage you, though, as this can and will be a major learning experience as we continue to help you out during the whole process. Just because we don't use your voice a lot doesn't mean you can't become a seasoned voice actor, just keep trying. This is all to help you.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, or wish to sign up as a community voice please visit the newly made Voice Actor Schedules.
Aug 17 2008     Lower the Guns

Well I want this to be known for everyone who visits the site, both members and guests, and I want everyone to join in. By the way this is basically the same thing as the post by AxS Kamikaze.

Weapon lowering has been a huge thorn in machinima maker’s sides since the start of Halo 3. People tried to get Bungie to listen in the beginning, but they seemed to ignore the outcries from the community. There is a group of people who have rallied on Bungie.net under one banner, Lower The Guns, in one last attempt to get Bungie to allow weapon lowering on Xbox Live.

Their plan is to mount the largest boycott of Xbox Live history against Halo 3 on it’s birthday (9/25/08). Now I’m not one to think anything like this will work…especially with only a few hundred people, but I figure if more and more people throw their support in something might happen. So if you support Bungie allowing weapon loweing join their group Lower The Guns on Bungie.net and boycott Halo 3 on 9/25/08.

Their site

Also if you are joining the group over on Bnet be sure to drop by and pledge support for Abyss Studios and Lower the Guns over in the thread I just made pledging Abyss Studios' support.
